GDG Inspire is a boutique consultancy firm advising clients seeking to improve policy making in sensitive areas like national security and defence, with a specific focus on their strategic communication and crisis communications capabilities. Through research on communication ecosystems, audiences, democracy and technology, we help our clients develop evidence-based policies.
Our ultimate goal is to inspire impactful and sustainable policies as the foundations of liberal societies.


Elliot Grainger

Narrative Architect – Behavioural Change Specialist - Democracy Advocate
Driven by a conviction that the contest for the narrative is the defining security challenge of our time, Elliot joined GDG Inspire to help governments build the strategic communication capability needed to defend democratic narratives against extremism, disinformation and foreign interference. With over twenty years of experience spanning field research in conflict zones to shaping EU and UN policy, he translates complex behavioural and geopolitical insight into practical, evidence-based responses that governments can actually implement.
Elliot is a recognised expert within EU Knowledge Hub on Prevention and Radicalisation (formerly RAN) and the former Head of Unit at the European Strategic Communications Network (ESCN). He advises Ofcom on AI and media literacy, has contributed to the development of the EU AI Act's national security frameworks, and has worked directly with over twenty governments across Europe, the Middle East, Central Asia and Africa.
Beatriz Martins

Beatriz Martins is driven by a passion for understanding and addressing critical aspects of national security and defence, with a focus on disinformation, P/CVE and strategic communication. Beatriz worked for the Disarmament and Non-Proliferation Division of the Portuguese Ministry of Foreign Affairs and has a background in human rights advocacy, reflecting her dedication to creating more informed, secure, and resilient societies.

Since joining GDG Inspire, she has conducted research analysis and delivered evidence-based insights to help support client strategies in sensitive policy areas. Beatriz’s expertise branches from her academic foundation in Strategic Studies and International Relations, combined with experience analysing trends in disinformation and P/CVE.


Giulia Dino Giacomelli

Governments specialist – Critically enthusiastic European - Emotionally intelligent
Genuinely fascinated by how (new) technologies affect the way we see the world and ourselves in it, Giulia founded GDG Inspire to provide support to governments in developing future-proof policies in key areas of national security: counterterrorism, the prevention of extremism and the fight against disinformation. With over 7 years consulting experience, she has engaged with a diverse set of public affairs organisations across Europe improving the link between governments’ policy-making and their strategic communication.
